Default Ribble at Mitton

Fished on this stretch of the Ribble last Friday. Glorious weather, clear blue sky, light breeze, river level about normal for time of year. Sporadic hatches of LDO (I am pretty sure) and also smaller light grey duns. From about 11.00 to 15:00 fished in the streamier sections, concentrating on eddies and quieter spots. No observable fish activity at all, not even a tug or a missed rise. About 15.30 came across a steady rise going on in a deep slowish pool where there had been no visible activity earlier in the day. Between 15:30 and 16:15 caught three on small grey CDC dry fly patterns. All about the half pound mark, quite fit, and beginning to fill out. The rise was still going on when I packed up and left. Not bad for an early season day.
