I think the prices might have changed for this last one .
SPORT AT KIRKCUDBRIGHT.

Angling. Permission to fish for salmon in the Dee must be obtained from the lessee (Sir C. D. Hope-Dunbar, Bart., of St. Mary's Isle), as the waters are strictly preserved. Tickets can be obtained from Mr. Davis, Factor, at The Grange. These tickets (one guinea for use of rod, 5s. day ticket) are available for a stretch of water between the railway bridge and the biscuit factory. There are numerous streams in the vicinity of the town that yield good trout fishing at a moderate cost.

These were the first results in Google so I'm sure if you check the rest you might find something else .Might not the Local Association be able to help if you can contact them .They are likely to be the best informed .

Hi tailingloop

Nearest to you is obviously the Fleet.....heading towards Newton Stewart is the Palnure Burn.....Newton Stewart itself has the Cree running through it then a liittle further you will find the Bladnoch.

For the Bladnoch, Cree and Palnure ring Jonathan Haley 01671830471....he has acess to all three.(has cottages actually on the banks of the Bladnoch)

Jim Stewart is handy too 01988402390for the Bladnoch and Tarff and also a small loch if the river isn't playing ball.

Alternatively there are two tackle shops in Newton Stewart who will have access to different beats/rivers etc.

You will have to stress trout fishing though as they are all really geared up for the 'Silver Tourists'

Sorry but no info on the Fleet water.....ask in the tackle shop

This will give you a starting point anyway

Thanks folks for all the info.
I have made a few enquiries and more than likely i will start on the bladnoch,i like what i have been told, and maybe one day do a loch i know i have had some nice days and good memories there, just me,rod and my dog.My dog is now seventeen and she is not too good, she couldnt cope with the walkiing now,but it would be nice to try it again just for the good memories.
Cheers,Gary.
