Any of the ayrshire boys on here fish the river irvine , i was thinking of dabbling in some river fishing for broonies . I have been looking at the dreghorn stretch as i live only 20 minutes away . Olso the chance to fish for the odd salmon in the season helps as well . So if anybody is in the club or has info , it would be appreciated

I Fished it many years ago, used to be great at night for the seatrout and given water salmon were there to be caught. Had a lot of poaching problems with netting, gassing with cymag and guys running the weir at Drybridge dam.The dam has now been breached to atop the gaffing and foulhooking in the pool below it but not sure about the other problems or fishing are like these days.

the permits were £25 last season
its a cracking water well worth the money
