Very tempting to say, "yes, go for it" but there is always the law of "unintended consequences" and trusting our government - responsible for the release of foot and mouth disease and the change in the laws for rendering of carcasses - which makes me more than wary about saying so. Other concerns are; that the plant is not killed and may develop some immunity to the introduced, insect and or fungus and that the government, once the controls introduced/released will almost certainly just tick the box and do nothing further, leaving the rest of us to struggle with HB, albeit a less agressive one.
Chemical controls are improving with our understanding of the plant and I see that there is a company claiming that they can treat and kill it with one chemical application.
On balance: let's continue with the current and improving methods of control and keep the alien bugs and spores as a last resort.
