Default Unlikely rivers for trout

Does anyone one want to share unlikely rivers they have caught trout in this season? By this I mean unstocked rivers, urban rivers, or just plain strange places like the Norfolk Broads I have hardly been out on the banks this season due to my recent ill health. But I'm planning my attack for next season, which will hopefully include an East Anglian sea trout, and hopefully above all else an Erewash brownie.

Talking Hidden trout of Derbyshire.

Hi Nick - hope you get well soon and are able to get out and about. Let me know when you can - got guest grayling fishing on Bentley Brook and the Derwent at Rowsley if you\re able.

I've found (courtesy of some local non-fishing friends) a tribe of native browns of immense size in a tiny tributary of the Derwent.
I don't want to give too much away publicly, I will PM you if there is a chance of fishing for them. But it's an amazing sight to see them fighting for the food we've been giving to them over the last few weeks.
In some pretty shallow water too.
At the moment I wouldn't dream of fishing for them - poaching ain't my bag.

I'm trying to find out a bit more from some of the people in the village that the tiny stream runs through.

I might try and get some pics just to tempt and tantalise you.

to be continued (maybe)...

Thanks for the good wishes, I'm on the mend. I've just hit a glitch with the medication, a visit to the consultant this morning look set to sort this.

This tiny stream in Derbyshire sounds intriguing, and I am try to guess which one, I'm guessing it's fairly near you and may have the initials MB. Some photos would be interesting to see.

I certainly would be up for some Grayling fishing, Lisa is happy for me to be out on the riverbank, but I think she would prefer for me to be out with someone else, not that I'm a liability and would require a risk assessment and an ambulance on standby.

Default Leicester

Hi Nick, as you know from my posts I've had trout from:
River Soar, south of Leicester.
River Biame, Leicester
River Sence (the Soar tributary, not the one the feeds the Tame/Anchor N.W. of Leicester, although this is actually stocked with trout/grayling)
My mate Pete caught a Brownie from the Queniborough Brook , north of Leicester.
I've heard of them in the Rothly brook but haven't fished it for years and also odd roumoured captures from the Wreake. I've fished this occassionally but usually in winter for pike/perch, so haven't prooved them there for myself.
Dee
