Default River Darent - Kent

Hi I have put my name down for membership and it looks as if it may be a couple of years before you get in.

However I was wondering if anyone in the forum has fished it regularly ... it sounds silly to apply and not to have fished it. But I have paid one of the beats a visit and it looked a very pleasant.

But I'd be interested on peoples knowledge, whether you can wade etc etc

Tried to get some info on DVFF for my lad to fish it (he's 16) but nothing ever arrived - we would both have to had joined...

The River almost ran dry a few years ago - so long hot summers are not good for the Darent. Walked bits of the river earlier in the year and there are lots of fish in there - just go through the ford at Eynsford and next to the public park you will a dozen or so 8" trout and grayling., they spook easily!

Otherwise its a typical small chalk stream. Nice open areas and some tight spots.

Never fished it but know the area well.

Carlos - i have also recently put my name down for membership. Have stopped and had a look at the river several times and it does look inviting - hence my interest. Where else do you usually fish.
Regards

This is my first season back for a very long time, so to date I am just casting on the put and takes.

Next season I want to start moving around streams when I can ..... as well as keeping to places like Albury and at some point Bewl, although I know nothing about reservoirs.

I am going to the Albury FFF Surrey meet on the 5th as well.

Carlos,
Quite a few of the Darent members are also members of Teise Anglers. Look up the TAOA web site and also search Teise within the forum. You will find the odd post.http://teiseangling.co.uk

Well I popped along to have a look and it is a very pretty little stream meandering through some very pretty Kentish countryside and villages.

I walked along the bank .............. without a rod (apparently they suffer badly from poachers)............ and if you like small streams with 1lb brownies you won't do any worse. It's even got lots of stuff for the rest of the family to see whilst you're out there.

However I am told it is a pretty substantial waiting list. I await DVTF's response with interest.
