Default When on the Test? Aug or Sep?

I wonder if any kind soul out there can offer advice:

I've just been best man for a good friend, and as a present he bought me a day on the Test, any time from Aug through to Oct.

I have to ring up and book day (subject to availability).

When should I try to go??

I'm thinking September is perhaps better - cooler?
Have never fished the Test before!

Definitely not August, I would look to go around the 3rd week of September and I'm not sure when the trout season ends on the Test but it could be 30th September.

I'm very jealous, I just had my first ever trip to the Test and the weather was awful, beautiful place, but fishing was rubbish that day. Rambling write up on my blog (that stands for Bloody Load of Old Garbage by the way )

Enjoy your day!

Agree , your blog looks good .

I perfer to fish the carriers of the Test (Timsbury and Wherwell beats) , but i can only afford to fish there in the Grayling season .
