Default Dove at Lower Ellastone (DRAC)

Paid a visit to the river again this morning. Very quiet morning with only a few grayling to show for my efforts. The grayling swimming around my feet are bigger than the one's I catch

There was a stiff upstream wind blowing and very few fish were showing on top, many fewer than in my two previous visits. Fish were caught on a small green Gold Bead nymph (3) and a Hare's Lug & Plover (1).

Tried a dry Double badger for a while but never had an offer (only really tried it to try out my new rod).

Conclusion - must improve

Your post would not be out of place on the Derbyshire thread...

Try Sturdy's Fancy (16 and 18) for those grayling.

Thanks Richard

I will add reports on future outings to the Derbyshire thread.
