Default Galway Rivers

Dear all,

does anyone know of any decent river fishing in Co Galway ? I am also prepeared to travel 2 hours to Mayo etc if anyone can suggest anywhere decent. I'm not after specimen trout, just pleasant scenery and the odd fish would be nice. I am used to fishing the Derbyshire Wye and a river similar to that would be ideal.

Please help !!! I've been here for 2 weeks and I am yet to fish.......I'm going cold-turkey !!!

Regards,
Drfrank

have a look at

http://www.wrfb.ie/gameangling/gameangling_home.php

With current low water levels I would

1) Try to get an [Evening ] /afternoon rod on galway weir

Contact E-mail: shartgalfish@eircom.net

2) Head for River Clare & fish late Evening rise

Pray for rain - then head for any of the spate rivers
particularly to erriff or bunowen in Connemmarra !!

Alternative - Best place in MHOP - Boat fishing sea trout in Connemmara

Fishery: Costello and Fermoyle
Address: Costelloe and Fermoyle Fishery, Cashla, Co. Galway.
Telephone: +353 (0)91 572196

or Head for moy tributaries - in east mayo see

www.rivermoy.com

inexpensive [ fly ] fishing salmon on springwells /point beat

or fish estuary for sea trout
