Default The Manifold

Has anyone had a go on the Manifold? I haven't seen it mentioned recently. On Sunday I stopped on the bridge at Swainsley and saw a few mayfly coming off.

This bridge is the bottom end of the DCAC stretch so it would be nice to know if it's worth having a go.

Hi Gary

I have fished the lower (southern) section and managed a few very small trout and nothing to rave about, however when I've tried getting info previously on FFF and I got a similar result. Funny thing is many old timers swear by this little river and rarely venture away from it - only to tell me how good the Manifold is . I can only assume they are too old for pc's or its a top secret venue .
I'm considering trying it with a few friends tomorrow middle and top sections, if I can talk them into it, thats if it's not battered by the rain but I dont even know how badly rainfall affects the Manifold.

If we go, I'll get back to you

Mick

I've not fished the DCAC Southern section yet this year, but the middle and some of the upper, no big fish to hand but a few small ones, most too fast on the take. There are a lot of long level sections and I'd have thought it would colour up heavily (it's not vary clear normally) after a few days like we've had. Worth a try and let us know how you get on.
