Default River Wear Today

Was out on the pagebank stretch for my first session of the the season today , mid-afternoon the weather was lovely .
within 10 mins of fishing it started lashing down , freezing cold , water was freezing and i was soaking wet big time .

after half an hour i was devastated as the whole day had been quite warm and sunny , so once i couldn't feel my hands again i decided a few more casts and i'm off .

got into a lovely wild trout of about 8" after 3/4 hour so decided to stay a bit longer .

10 mins later that was it , home , heating on , fire on , few cans of stella .

never blanked so i'm happy

had a few hours out down on the pagebank stretch last night , plenty of fish rising , landed about half a dozen browns and lost about the same .
there seems to be alot of salmon and sea trout held up in the river at the minute .
i'd only been fishing about 10 mins and cast to the opposite bank to ferryhills side of the river and a huge fish came out of the water about 6ft from me showing its dorsal fin and tail , i'd estimate it at about 6-7lbs possibly bigger .
don't know if it was a salmon or seatrout ??
it looked quite dark on its top from what i saw of it , can't of been a brown as they only get upto about 3lb and those are few and far between .
then further down towards tudhoe there was some huge splashes in the slow stretches .
the water is nice and clear at the minute , not much weed but could do with an extra foot of water in it .
so if anyone fishes the wear for salmon/seatrout get yourselves out as there seems plenty in .
