Default Cound Brook, Shropshire

Here are a couple of pictures of the Cound Brook taken this morning. The day started with a chill in the air but the sun was doing its best. Hope sprung eternal but was misplaced. The water was cold, high and quite coloured - not a fish was seen!

I knew the water was cold because it was 'refreshing' my right foot. (One pair of breathables sent back to the company yesterday - a new pair of neoprenes required!)

As the morning passed the clouds came in, the temperature dropped and I was suddenly made aware that all was not well with my digestive system - the sudden severity of which was such that it necessitated a trip into Shrewsbury to purchase items of replacement clothing!

The arrival of disturbed vision and migraine continued the interesting theme of the day but things quickly perked up with a visit to the excellent Cound Still Water Fishery. The rainbow and brook trout being great fun on a 6' 9", 3wt!

Tomorrow, I have a boat on Pitsford - now where's the Imodium?

Sorry Chub1 - no it isn't.

It's one of the Gamefishers Club waters.

Thanks for sharing this with us. I'm tying to picture the look on the wader repair guy's face when he unpacks them

Try the Teme in Ludlow or visit a few pubs on the banks of these brooks, often they will have some fishing available!
