Re: Grayling Rivers near Lancaster
No grayling in the Lancaster area I'm afraid.
You would need to either head:
a) north to Eden system
b) south to Ribble system
c) east to upper Ure
Those are the nearest grayling fisheries to Lancaster. I've always wondered why the Lune has remained graylingless. The Ure, Eden and Ribble all rise within a few miles of each other on the Pennine watershed in easterly, southerly and northerly directions respectively. Amongst the same cluster of infant streams, but in the westerly direction is the Clough Beck, a tributary of the Rawthey and in turn the Lune. Its source is literally metres from that of the Ure.........yet that final point of the Pennine spate stream compass yields no grayling whatsoever. I've never been able to ascertain as to why this is the case.
