If you go to a tackle shop they'll be able to give you maps and details about licenses etc.
There's an Orvis shop in Turin I think.
Where abouts are you?
If you click on my fishing blog there's some details of where I fished in Italty.

Thanks for the info! I live about 2 hours south of Rome. It seems the best places are in northern Italy from what I've found. I'll definately check out the sites too!

Last year at the World Tuscan Open Fly Tying show I met this fellow that makes bamboo rods. He lives in Giugliano, which in Campania. You can visits Marco’s web site at:

http://www.bamboorods.it/

The site lists some contact information. Marco’s English is pretty good. I wish my Italian was as good as his English. So give him a call.

You can go to my blog and see some photos and a trip report for fishing the Tevere tailwater (Tuscany) and the Nera (Umbria):

http://expat.my-expressions.com/ and click on the Italy gallery.

Your best bet is to find an Italian fly fishing club, join it and get them to take you around. Italian fly fishers embrace the sport wit a passion. I have never seen such a fine bunch of caster, fly tyers and rod makers.

BTW - "No Kill" means Catch and Release in Italy. Here is a site I found on Google for you to check out:

http://www.geocities.com/pafumi/nokill.htm

Good luck, I envy you adventure.

Michael,
I live in the campania region so this is perfect! I went to www.flyfishitaly.com and they are a company who run guided trips to the Tevere and Nera Rivers. I was thinking of going to learn the rivers and techniques sometime soon. I was hoping to start closer to home first! A 4 hour drive is a bit much every time I want to fish! Thanks for the info, keep it coming if you can, please!
