I have some.

Don't go.

The Grayling are all further up than the stretch the Hotel has that is fishable. I've not caught in that section since before xmas.

Their banks are very overgrown and it's hard to cast into most of their runs.

You can join Leek & District, fish twice (three times the fishable part) that length of the Dove all year plus Bentley Brook, The Hamps, The Churnet and the Dove at Crowdecote. For not a lot more.

Other than that - I'd enjoy yourself.

I'll second that. A great club, with some great rivers. Good value aswell.

Fished the Dove at Dovecote yesterday, and you were both right. Very little sign of action. Myself and my buddy managed to eek 3 each out. One of his was around the 3lb mark (grayling), and i managed 2 grayling and a 1 1/4 pound trout showed its face to my Klink (i lectured him on the fact that it wasn't his time to be caught, and returned him safely). Its a bonnie place, but i wont be returning in a hurry, im afraid.

cheers

It was caught on a pink shrimp, bugging style. The grayling wasnt in the best of health....it looked like a heron or something had had it quite recently, but it was on the feed. Will try and get a photo from fishing pal. hope this helps

Default 3lb Thats a whopper

Hi Deano

I'd like to see it aswell - I'm fishing there this week, so it might motivate me.
