Default Hampshire Avon

Hi,

Just joined the forum and this is my first post. I've recently joined the SDFFA which has fishing on the Avon above Bulford. I'm planning to fish it on Sunday and was wondering if anyone had any tips on which stretches are best and how the river's fishing?

Thanks

If you've got full membership I'd go somewhere else for grayling. That stretch of the Avon is not their best stretch. Nothing wrong with the river round there, I fish directly below it, and the opposite bank was Frank Sawyers water. However that stretch is avaialable on a day ticket for a fiver and runs along the edge of an estate and through some common land water meadows. While the kids aren't too bad around there, it's Durrington not the inner city, but the advice is not to fish at the weekend or in the holidays. Certainly not a peacful spot. The SDFFA maintain it as part of an agreement with the council as a resource for the local kids really.
