Have you thought about joining a fishing club for a season.
Thornaby Anglers,Stockton A/C , Darlington Brown Trout.Bishop/auckland and district. barnard castle A/C.Are a few that have water on the Tees.
The book Where To Fish 2011 is a handy book to have for the Travelling angler.Trout and Salmon in their river reports have some addresses where day tickets are available. The beauty of a season ticket is that you can chose your days.

Clubs on the Tees are cheep range from £30 up.
We should all be members of local clubs they need your money and support at these difficult times.

The club i am in is Bishop Auckland and District Angling club thet have water on the Tees and the river Wear they have fishing on one of the best day ticket water Witton Castle . The Wear has some of the best Sea-Trout fishing in England.
If you had to fill your car up to travel North or South for a days fishing these days you can join a club like BAAC and get Salmon,Sea-Trout, Grayling, Brown Trout, some of the best course fishing in the country all year round.
Great value in my book here in the N/East with friendly people.

Hi John

I'm very new to this river lark, pretty new to fishing tbh. I joined the B section of Stockton Angling last year and had quite a few nice days out course fishing on the lower Tees. I put my name down for the A section and got a call earlier this year.

I think I paid £60 (inc joining fee), and have already had a free days spey casting tuition out of it. Well worth it.

Bishop Auckland is supposed to be a very good club to join. More expensive than Stockton, but the Weir doesn't have the Tees Barrage.

HTH, Bruce

Does anyone know where the Darlington Brown Trout water at Middleton in Teesdale/Eggleston starts and ends?

Bottom end is where the beck enters the Tees at Burn Foot Farm, top end is Middleton bridge.

The top half of the beat is right bank the bottom half left bank.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. Just joined DBT but the Eggleston water is the only map they don't provide!

Assume it switches from right bank to left bank after the Lune?
