You can't be a million miles away from the waters available under the 'Peak Passport Scheme'.

Similar to other schemes also run by regional Rivers Trusts.

Although I haven't fished the peak waters I believe there is some good river trouting to be had with just the purchase of some vouchers beforehand.

Mick.

Within an hour of you, there is good fishing available on the Welsh Dee at Llangolen, have a look at the Maelor Angling club website day tickets cost £12.00, heading north, there's the river Calder up here in Halifax, at £4.00 for a day ticket its cracking value and there's plenty of fish, some nice sized fish also. A bit further on there's the river Nidd around Patley Bridge, they have a couple of good day ticket lenghts, day tickets cost £12.00.

Would also recommend Corwen and District on the Dee. Not sure of the website but google cadac.

Opposite direction and depending on where you live in Cheshire then Leek and District could have water less than an hour's drive for you: Leek And District Fly Fishing Association - Home
