Default River Cree - Newton Stuart Angling Association - Dumfries and Galloway

hi there,

has anybody fished this water and do you know if its any good for salmon this time of year?

any help would be great as im heading up that way next week.

Hi Cal, yes I used to fish a private stretch of it some years ago for the salmon, upstream of NS, Minigaff, lovely water, but never caught it right, too hot and low or too cold and wet, you know the story.
Haven't fished it in ages, and the chap who owned the stretch died a couple of years ago, so not sure who owns it now.

Steve, thanks for that, think most of the water is owned by NSAA or the next beat up is private, Linloskin :S i think its called.

above linloskin is a beat which has tickets available from the cree bridge hotel in new stewart not to dear if conditions are good you may find the nsaa beat gets pretty busy with locals cheers john, ps i think it is called the galloway estate beat
