Default River Lugg - Presteigne

I've continued my Wye & Usk Odyssey with a trip to the Lugg.

A lovely little river with a lot of fish - generally quite small but with a few 'larger specimens'! Difficult fishing, very overgrown - I started off with a 7' 6", 4wt but changed to a 6' 6", 2wt in the afternoon. It's the sort of stretch where you have to change your set up around every corner. I took fish on goldheads in deep pools and bends and dries in streamier runs.

I'd describe it as challenging.

Don't know - didn't ask her!

Seriously though - I was fine - an early night and an early start!

The question is - will I be able to sneak away next Saturday/Sunday for a last day at Brian the Brownie? ......... And if I can............ where will I go?

Life's so complicated!

You could always try the Usk... the trout went bonkers this evening, I had three over a pound, several just under, lost a whopper and got snapped by what I suppose was a salmon. Got on the river after five, best couple of hours fishing I've had for a few days!

Looks like my kind of fishing.

A bit of jungle fun is always good.
