Anyone else seen trout ?

Seem to be tons of small salmon about & a lot of course fish.

Just wondering why.

I fish the beat above and there are wild browns in the area but very hard to catch due to the amount of hammering they get. Best chance is very early morning or at night. Best I've had is 6lb at night

Intersting read & my thoughts exactly.

Have bookmarked your blog & look forward to some more reading.

Grayling seem to be in abundance as do the parr. Hopeful September will bring us better form.

Has nobody fished the hodder over the last few weeks while we had the dry weather and frost? Not been on for a long time and itching to escape from my loft conversion job for a day,
Gaz.

The Hodder has a lot of Grayling in it! In much higher densities than the bits of Ribble and (Lancs) Calder I fish.

Yep Calder fisher, as flickup says, lots of grayling, some quite decent ones too, plenty of little ones, and the odd stocks escapee rainbow which can be a hair raising few minutes on a four weight outfit!
Gaz.
