Default Northumberland trout rivers - any recommendations?

I've got a week in Northumberland mid September and "permission" to do a day or couple of half days fly fishing. Can anyone recommend some good river fisheries in the Seahouses area suitable for a novice?

Hi andy,

have a look at this thread that I started
Fishing near Newcastle (England) ?

some great info., with some v.helpful responses., seem to be plenty of options.

I've ended up booking a place in a village called Warkworth which sits in a loop of the River Coquet. After checking it seems that the fishing is owned by the Northumbrian Anglers Federation, and they do day tickets for the river. Check them out at
http://www.northumbriananglersfed.co.uk/

I'm also having quick lessons in speaking Geordie. "H'away the lads" seems to be a key phrase, but I haven't got a clue what it means. the local drink appears to be a rather strong Brown Ale, pronounce "Brune".

Be better if I'd actually been and could report back, but may save you some digging around.

Much appreciated. The Brown Ale must be strong, the last time I was in the area was a bitterly cold January, I was wearing everything I had in my bag while the locals casually walked around in T-Shirts ... I reckon if you rub it into your skin you can probably run to the North Pole in your underpants.
