I have fished it a few times. You can pick up grilse from July onwards but it needs rain to get them running. It is quite a reasonable sea trout river, there should be a good head of them in by now. The brown trout are generally quite small and dark, the river runs with a dark peat stain. The river is quite sluggish in its lower reaches from just above Elgin down to Lossiemouth. Above there the river changes character with streamier water and some deep pots. It is very overgrown in parts and heavy going, so travel light.
