Default Living The Dream Fly Fishing Association

I can't tell you how much I've been looking forward to starting this thread....I was recently told that a couple of pals of mine were starting a new and exclusive syndicate on the Izaak Walton Hotel's stretch of the Dove at Dovedale, I was chuffed to bits when I was invited to join it!

I thought I would start this thread so that syndicate members could post any info that they want about recent experiences on the 'Living the Dream Fly Fishing Association' stretch of the lovely Dove, whether it be conditions, successful fly patterns, hatches, catches, amusing stories or just a little banter. Non members are also welcome to add content should they feel the desire to do so.

The two great chaps that we can thank for starting the syndicate are none other than John Tyzack and Glen Pointon.....the Dove at Dovedale has never been the same since they ceased fishing there a few months ago and now, thankfully, they'll be a regular sight on the banks of the lovely valley.

LTD!!!

Woody

PS its on the right thread now

Nice one Woody
Now you know what I been upto for the last few months, Jt and myself have worked hard to get this up and running, run in a modern style of fly fishing.
The 30 man syndicate is capped to stop pressure, no stocking, dry fly only (I wish)
Jt and myself have had the joy to go and fish our own beat that sees no pressure and I have been blown away by the fish we have caught!!
One of JT fish bust over the holy 3lb mark at over 50 cm and I caught 4 fish over 2lb back in December!
We have some great lads in the syndicate which I am very grateful for, the syndicate sold out in days so was great feeling.
This club might sound a bit exclusive but is no closed shop so feel free to ask if you want to fish the great river..
Will post some pictures of proper lunking grayling we have had soon..
Well looks like am still living 'living the dream'
Nice one
Glen

Default Nice One Gents - Live the Dream

Glen & JT,
First of all fellas a great job well done !!! Am looking forward to fishing the stretch and meeting the other members, maybe you can show me where those big lunkers are .

Looking forward to the season ahead where I am sure we will have a great crack and a good mix of socialising and fishing thrown in. Really chuffed to be part of it and looking forward to picking up new skills and ideas from the vast knowledge of all the members.

Preparing to 'Live the Dream'
Cheers
Phil

It's a true pleasure to have a angler like yourself on our beat, what worries me is your angling skills are very good!! And I dare not show you the big lady holes as you will find them anyway!!

The doo at the Walton shall be wicked, having good crack and am gonna do talk on 'non fishing activities' !! Am gonna be stopping over in hotel and serving fresh grayling for breakfast! Lol
Nice one
Glen

Big lady holes? Keep it clean Pointon; It is only the first day of the thread!
Thanks for joining 'The Tamers' for a pint the other night.

We are thinking of starting a fly tying evening at the Cow, Werrington. Specialising in Staffordshire river patterns. Anyone interested?
