Default N.A.F Waters. Tyne & Coquet

Hi all, newbie to the site so thought id start by saying hi. (great site by the way, already tied about 4 patterns from the step by step, and caught with them!)
Just come back to fly fishing after a 10-12 year absence and got myself back on to the beats i fished for trout on as a kid (Northumberland Anglers Federation)

Just thought id check up with you lot to the size of fish your pulling from these waters? Im getting quite alot of success on dry flies, nothing on wets etc (probably technique) but dont seem to be catching anything bigger than about 6inch in length. this seem about right to you??

I remember when i fished these waters years ago, i used to regulaly catch brownies of 2-3lb. are they still there??

Anyway, tight lines and all that.

Ok thanks for the info - the pictures of the Aln I have seen were pretty bad so I didn't expect much.

Looks like my trip to the hills in a few weeks is not going to involve too many productive hours on the Coquet either then!

tight lines
