Welcome to the forum we have one or two scottish anglers here who, will I trust, be able to answer your immediate question and hopefully a few more who answer most of your future questions.

Hey There,

i fished it a couple weeks ago, it was low then too and algae is covering the bottom already of the slower pools.

the fishing can be pretty tough ( well for me anyway), and as 3lbGrayling said (i think), we could use some rain.

I saw a few Yellow Mays hatching which was abit odd, as I thought that was abit early. Fine tippets and decent presentation on dry's is always in order I find. I don't fish wets, so can be of no use there.

Just keep your eyes peeled for bugs & rising fish.

Campbell

Hi GB,

I'm afraid the Clyde is showing its bones just now and the fishing's not easy.
There's plenty of fish in the Lamington AA water but just now they seem to be keeping their heads down. You might want to try the faster runs with the dry fly. The double decker's a good searching fly. The deeper slower runs are worth a shot with nymphs/bugs tho' mostly you'll probably catch grayling which should be starting to spawn now and need to be treated with a bit of care if you do hook them. Its been a good winter for them and their numbers seem to be reviving.
You'll have a good day out anyway!

TL,

Davie

With this good weather some times its like Sauchiehall Street on the popular stretches.Dump the car and walk a bit off the beaten track and you will find moderately willing fish. Given the low water and sunlight the fish are really spooky, keep your flies small and tippet as thin as possible unless as WC says your search fishing the faster runs.
Dont take anything for granted. While some of my fish have come from "trouty" water a surprising number have come from really flat slow stuff where you would only expect minnows.
Whatever you do it will be hard work, you might have to change methods a couple of times before you connect, if you have small weighted nymphs i would pack a couple of dozen
Keep us posted.

well made it up clyde on monday day started well enough 3rd cast having just started at wolfclyde bridge into nice brownie about 1lb didnt even wade into water got it in about 12 inches of water on a yellow owl cdc size 14 very quiet after that moved upstream a couple of miles fishing as i went seen a few moving but nothing doing. got a heavy shower midway through the day was considering leaving as was perched under tree for 1 hour but glad i didn,t after shower passed turned into cracking day and on my walk back down to car manged to hook a couple of grayling about the 12 inch mark safley returned to fight another day olso missed a few rises to the yellow owl too slow but all in all a great day .

p.s you were right it could do with more rain hopefully this weeks showers will help it out
