If you're down that way, then give the river Annan a try. I've had good trout & huge grayling out of it this year. The upper beats around Moffat can be very hard work as the water is, in general quite shallow, but you'd be suprised what feeds in 18" of water on a quiet stretch of river on an overcast day!! See
