Default River Nidd

Recent spate now receding
Today, still higher than would like - but with no rain today/night should be looking fishable tomorrow

Fished Summerbridge on Sunday, had 20 grayling. Fished kilnk and dink all day with a flashback nymph on the dropper, probably half came to the dry and these were the only rises I saw, which shows the power of the klinkammer.

Sounds like the Nidd is on form. I have been concentrating on the Wharfe recently with relatively poor results, but feel tempted by your report and might well try Summerbridge next week, weather permitting.

Same story here mate, I can only seem to find those 4 inch jobs on the Wharfe at the moment, hopefully the coming weather will shoal up the better fish.

Is there any reason why there is separate thread for the Nidd under UK river Updates, while all other Yorkshire rivers fall under the Yorkshire Waters thread. Don't suppose it really matters that much, but is it not more logical to keep this under the YW one or am I incorrect and there is perhaps another Nidd outside of Yorkshire?

It was just there so I posted a reply, didn't think it really mattered.
I assumed it's the Yorkshire Nidd we are discussing seeing as we are all from Yorkshire.

Default Nidd this weekend?

Matt,

We never made it to Swinsty over the summer but if you are interested in fishing my club water on the Nidd over this week-end give me a call on the amended mobile number you now have. I have some good grayling sport a couple of week ago on dry fly, although I may try my trotting gear out this weekend.

Nidd

Nidd,

Sounds good. Think Nick and I are fishing Sunday (28/11/10) so I'll be in touch. We popped down to Knaresborough last Saturday by 'horseshoe' with no luck

Matt.

Yes NAC water Matt, might have been a few tennis balls in the river, if you know what I mean
