Smile Derbyshire Wye here I come...

I have just received confirmation for my first visit to the day ticket stretch of the Wye. I will be going on the 25th May so I'm hoping there should be a good hatch on.

I can't believe how excited I am since I grew up only a few miles from the Wye and went to school in Bakewell. I grew up thinking that all rivers were crystal clear and contained lots of trout

The reason for my post is I have read the Derbyshire thread, the news letters from the Haddon Estate and various blogs and I am trying to digest all the info and wondered if anyone with experience had any golden nuggets of advice.

Thanks in advance.

Google Glen Pointon and look at his blogspot.

Some nice pics on there as well.

Question

May 25th is a very good day. Fish will be taking the fly and the hatch will be well underway. What pattern are you bringing?

Thumbs up

I'll save you some of Phillip Whites' hair winged mayfly duns. You wont need owt else, not on the 25th.

Cheers for that Warren, my casting isn't the best so if you could save me a few that would be great.

Thanks
