Default fishing in hot/sunny weather

I am a young angler looking for advice on how to best approach resovoir trout on a hot and sunny day/evening. Any hints or tips would be much appreciated.

Hot sunny days can be a nightmare. The fish are usually deep in the bright days and boobys on a Hi-D are all ways a good bet. Come the evening when the sun is lower in the sky you can have a great rise and dry flys and buzzers can bring excelent sport..

Someone once told me that on a bright day you should use a fly with bright colours, and on a cloudier, darker day to use a darker fly.

Haven't really tested this theory myself. Not sure if there is any science behind it but it might be worth a try...

Hot sunny days usually mean getting the sinking lines out but there is most often always a fish or two interested near the surface.

I have found that hot sunny days at this time of year can give good reservoir fishing - deep with buzzers or lures. Perhaps better from a boat than off the bank. The water temperatures are OK, the fish are hungry and there's abundant food for them.

By contrast hot sunny days in July and the first half of August can be very difficult. Again fish deep - maybe work the aerators if there are any in your water. Pray for cloud to bubble up.

A morning session, a lunchtime pint or 2, a snooze through the afternoon and fishing hard in the evening might be wise ?

Default fluoro buzzers

Hi,
Foosandtrout you suggested using a pinch of fluoro orange tied away from the body, could you clarify what you mean by tied away from the body and how would one go about tying this in?
I hope i make sense
