Default Hampshire / Dorset fishing query.

Can anyone advise any details of where I can get day ticket access to the Meon, Itchen, test and carriers, etc. in Hampshire? I have fished at the lower itchen fishery and via fishingbreaks.com but keen to find some other new waters in Hampshire. I have seen various private waters whilst out walking but there is often never any contact details etc. Quite happy to pay the going rate for a beat. I have tried various tackle shops without success.

Thanks in advance
Paulbfishing.

Have you tried The Rod Box in Kings Worthy, near Winchester? they manage a lot of chalkstream water and should be able to help, certainly with season rods. not sure about day tickets.

Have you thought about the Kennet:

I have only fished the test for Grayling, not sure of the process for the trout season:

Paul

Try a quick search here using the 'county' search field

http://flyfishingvenues.co.uk/search.asp

It will throw-up a fair number of both still-water and river beats available on day tickets

Paul, stillwater fisheries that also offer river beats might be a good bet at not too silly prices. Avon Springs, Holbury and Woodington are 3 that come to mind. I fish the first two regularly and can recommend them, but I have not tried Woodington yet.

Default Beat 6 on the Test

There is a lovely stretch of the Test which is fairly inexpensive (in comparsion to some beats!)

This is the website: www.timsburyfishing.co.uk

Please mention you came via the website when you call (if you do), I did it!

Cheers,
Craig

For some good beats on the Piddle and Frome in Dorset, which is mentioned in the header but not the body of the first post....

Default Thanks.

Thanks everyone, much appreciated. I have plenty of leads & options to have a go at and will post the results. Walked a significant part of the Itchen yesterday but not many mayfly as yet. Some good fish moving.
