Going out there today, Chalky, so will try to post tonight. Might be late, though!

I was out on thursday, fish were being caught from Reed End up to Top bay, and from Pike point to The lilies and also at Osprey point.,check Butterstone website for map, i got fish on fast glass with mini yellow dancer, two tone blob and mini white cat boob. Best tactic on the day seemed to be midge tip with blob on the point with very slow figure of 8. If its been stocked recently dont venture far from Lochend bay , The shallows and The shelf.

Tight lines.

I was at Butterstone two weeks ago tomorrow. I had 16 fish 15 on the buzzers and 1 on a dry fly. I was fishing on the left hand side as you look into the bay at the far side. The fish were close into the reeds. Hope this helps.

Loads of fish caught today (but not by me ). (All following directions as you look out from the lodge.) In the morning fish caught all down the left hand shore, and some just to the right of the boat dock. Seemed to be patchy in the middle of the day, but after 3.30 there were lots of fish in the area between 3 trees and the gap. All sorts of flies caught, from yellow dancer to snatcher to buzzer. It seemed to me to be all about location, and I didn't get that right. Roll on Frandy on Monday. I hate fishing at anchor - well, that's my excuse!

well lads, we were out in rather blustery conditions and it was a day for the fluff chuckers. I tried nymphs, buzzers, cormorants only to watch oor lad catching on white humongous and yellow dancers. Fish on first cast only to lose it when braided loop came off. First time this has ever happened to me in more years than I care to remember and then it happened to my son later in day. Definately going to whip every one this afternoon, think the reason is the tubes have hardened over winter ??. Ended the day with 6 for boat but all to fluff and think that the majority of fish yesterday were caught same way. We all had faces like amber warning lights with the wind and sun but enjoyed the day. We were out in the wheelie boat so if anyone is wondering I was the guy on the dining chair
