Question river swale, catterick...

thinking of going there tomorow ,has anyone been of late ,never fished here before so any advice greatly accepted or is it not worth going as for amount of fish?????

Its a tough call that, I manage about a 2 mile stretch at catterick and well er its sh!te, to be honest it is not managed as such I just clear access and control membership (all 2 of them), I have fished it a few times with little success. I would immagine you are talking of the beat that used to be owned by leeds, I have not fished this but know it to have good greyling, as they are out of season that does not help you much. I have walked it though and it is a very nice stretch of water it will be better than staying indoors so for that reason I would say go fill ya boots.

If it is the Leeds water as was it 's actually a fine pice of flywater at the upper end- some good wild trout- if about 25% of the size which the Leeds bailiff Gus thing used to claim were present.A lot of grayling too; river v low today but a couple of spider patterns will get you some action

grayson,from what i can find it says its still leeds water and you get tickets from the national lottery newsagent ???? if it isnt theres where do i get the tickets ???

Dunno sorry- Leeds have sold it I think but Id try the newsagent in Catterick Village and if that fails- just have a go anyway?
