Default Advice on hanningfield resovoir

Hi everybody i am new to this forum, as well as an inexperienced fly fisherman. I have fly fished for trout a few times and managed a few, but not for a couple of years.
I a after some advice for hanningfield resovoir, i am hoping to have a day there soon and will be fishing with a more experienced person, although he hasnt fished it before, and has had a few years break from fishing so is a bit out of touch with regards to flies etc.
Is it worth a relative beginner trying or is it too hard? any areas, methods or particular flies worth a go?
Any advice would be much appreciated

thanks in advance

I have fished there a few times, Charlie on here fishes there a bit too and is very experienced.

I fished off the mole last time I went there recently and the lads were catching loads on an intermediate with green and black gold heads with nice bushy marabou tails.

Orange blobs can also do the business.

Speak to the chaps in the office when buying your ticket and other anglers there on the day.

the web site also gives some advice http://www.eswater.co.uk/Weeklyfishingreports.aspx

best of luck

Ben

Drop me a pm before you go - I know the water fairly well but some of my buddies are real experts on the venue, and I can get you reasonably upto date info once we start the competitions there in April.
