Bruce,

Its small and shallow and i haven't been since May time last year but for a day out in a rural location its pleasant and tranquil. I don't think the two lakes are that old but that means the casting is easy without too many trees surrounding. I think its spring fed so the water quality has always been good and clear when I've been there. It seems to be stocked regularly and I have has some good fish out in the past.

I don't know too much about stillwater fishing but goldhead grhe and ptn (variants) have caught fish for me.

Hope thats a help.

David

Bruce,

Just to update you if you are thinking of going. I called in at Thornton Lodge the other day for some casting practice and couple of hours fishing. It wasn't as clear as normal on the bottom lake but had a couple or reasonable rainbows to a montana goldhead and goldhead bloodworm.
