Default Walton upon Thames - any fish near by?

I may well be working in my companies Walton office, during late September early October. In an attempt to stave of a plethora of alcohol fueled evenings in the local pubs, is there any decent fishing to be had on an evening/day ticket in reasonable driving distance?

Ideally it would be a small trout stream, I see the Lambourn is not too far away, but I can't see any tickets for that popping up.

I could settle for a pond, but I'd rather not.

Exclamation Ponds to ponder

nearest pond would be halifordmere web address below
www.hallifordmere.co.uk

The other pond would be Syon park, part of the Albury estate, web address below
www.alburyestates.com

Just a novice myself so no river knowledge as yet.

All the best, onetricktrout, failed tax dodger

Frankly I'd be fascinated to meet the guy, and buy him a beer.

The Boote and I have never crossed swords, but he has much interesting to say about my corner of West Wales.

As stated Halliford mere is worth a chuck , at £20 allday or £15 8-1 &1-6 or £10 evening ticket, i fish there alot and its hard at the moment but i had fish out on my last outing, if you do go ,use two rods one with a 3 buzzer setup NZ style, and a nymph setup with a GRHE on it fish very slow on both accounts.
Check here for more info .http://www.completefisher.com/forum/...pic.php?t=9858 im barbus
Of course you can flyfish the thames, theres plenty of it
