Hi,

My names Cody Burgdorff and I am a member of the USA Youth team for fly fishing. The world championships are going to be held in July on the Allier and Colagne Rivers targeting the Brown trout and Grayling in the river. I was wondering if anyone on this forum could give me any advice on fishing this region, or fishing for Grayling in general as we dont have this species in the US. Thanks for any help in advance!

I spend a lot of time fishing for grayling and find the most effective way of fishing for them is tiny dry flies or heavy nymphs depending on where they are feeding.

In some rivers they are very free rising and a great sporting fish.

Thanks for the information on the grayling. I fell like finding out how to catch these and the roach in the lakes will be key for the competition.
