Default Grayling near Huddersfield/Barnsley

Hi,
Do any of you folk up there in Yorks have some suggestions on where to fly fish, before the trout season starts, for Grayling somewhere reasonably close to Shelley (between Barnsly and Huddersfield). I'm long overdue for a visit to my cousin who lives in Shelley, and would like to double up on the trip.
Thanks for reading,
Regards,
Del.

As well as the Calder there's the Colne and Holme in and around Huddersfield town centre.

Many thanks so far. Any tips on buying tickets, getting permissions and specific places to park at etc. I'm completely in the dark here and my cousin has no interest in angling at all.
Thanks again,
Del.

Hi Del,
You can get tickets for the Calder from Jewsons tackle/gun shop in Halifax, Chris Roberts in Huddersfield, Calder Angling Supplies in Brighouse or if I'm around myself. If I fish the Colne/Holme, I usually park up around Queend Mill road, you'll be able to find your way to the river easily enough. If and when you do get up, drop me a PM and I'll let you know where's fishing best etc and access points.
Gary.

Cheers Gary, once again much appreciated.
And Jim, how about the first response from Gary suggesting fishing in Huddersfiled town centre? Great stuff!
Cheers All,
Del.
