Hi

The patterns I use are:

Elk Hair Caddis
CDC & Elk Variant
Goddard's Sedge
Grannom Caddis (early season)

Other patterns which I have yet to try but seem quite popular are the Balloon Caddis and the X-Caddis.

Kaufman's Stimulator is a good, general all round pattern which can also pass as a caddis imitation, as well as a whole lot of other things.

There are a lot of good sedge patterns for rivers but my particular favourites are the CDC & Elk, CDC Sedge (for flat water) & Balloon Caddis all of which represent the adult sedge but for an emerging sedge its hard to beat a balloon caddis tied on a grub hook, it caught me a LOT of trout last season, all these patterns are easy to tie & are tied on sizes 12 to 16 although the smaller sizes work better for me.

Is my favourite. Here is the information about it: Dry Fly 'Expert': Nondescript Sedge...

Also the Double Badger is very good for sedge flies.

Balloon Caddis works for me on its own and as the indicator dry for Duo fishing with a weighted nymph. Very easy to spot in fast water and poor light if you add a bit of hi-viz post material.

Hi Guys

This was one of my most deadly drys ! Provoking some fantastic explosive full air borne takes some days others simply sipped down .......

I tie a quick simple Elk caddis ..................cant see the point of fancy ties when im jungle fishing in tight spots, as your going to loose flys !

I found it worked better in 12's and 10's
