Default First trip of the year and a good one...

Was down my local beck today to agree the invertebrate monitoring sites on it. Was lovely to be down by the water again and was good to see lots of signs of trout redds.

Afterwards decided to have a couple of hours after the Grayling. Been down there a couple times this winter and havent even see any of the ladies and was getting worried the otters / and black plague etc had cleaned them out . After two hours was in the last pool and at last had a small 9inch fish , next cast into the same area and latched into this fellow 17inches and absolutely pristine.. A cracking way to start the year...

Its going to be a good year ...
