Trout Of Doubt is on a distinguished road
Default Reeling in a caddis

After my last cast had drifted to it's limit I started reeling in ... and hooked a fish. It's not the first time this has happened to me so I wasn't too suprised. But it makes me curious about what the fish thought it was going for.

I was using a size 14 elk heair caddis with a reddish palmer and although I'd stopped paying attention, I'm pretty sure it must have been dragged under the surface. Other than just some random invertibrate, any thoughts on what the fish thought it might have been?

Just food, about to get away I would imagine.
Happens so often, it's a most likely time to get a take.
