The Clun and the Rea Brook hold good grayling.

Clubs?

The Gamefishers Club used to have water on the Clun ... until they chose to turn a blind eye to its destruction below Aston on Clun. I left the club thereafter.

Seeing as you're north shropshire then Clun etc in south shrops is a long old haul. You'd be better welsh borders I imagine - not that I am familiar with much that way, but I have had a look at the Dee before now, at Bangor on Dee, whilst en route to friends in Wrexham. They do day tickets for grayling from the post office and it looks a lovely piece of river. If you do try it, I'd be interested to hear how you get on

Smudge,

Have a look at Upper Tanat FFC. Nice club with a great river.

Smudger,
I am in Shrewsbury too and the Reabrook all the way up from its confluence with the Severn in the town hold lovely ladies.

Also Welsh dee at Llangollen is superb.

The Reabrook is £30 to join the Shrops Angling Association - from Total Angling in Battlefeild. 7ft 3wt or smaller/lighter.

From 2nd Jan you can join the now amalgamated Maellor and Llangollen clubs - both have websites but the Llangollen one is better. Or day tickets from hardware store in the town. £70 country membership. 8'6" 3wt or 9' 4wt.

Ludlow also has some free water on the Teme between the bridges from the Horshoe Weir up to the Ludford Bridge.8'6" 3wt or 9' 4wt.

Plenty to go at - but as others I have spoken to seem to be having the same problem - the temperature needs to drop a good bit before you can avoid the plentiful head of brownies to be found on all these waters.
Feel free to pm if I can be of any more help.

Clabedoo
(I know its pelled wrong)

I never realised how much was around here. You just take things for granted until someone tells you, what else is on your doorstep. Fantastic the amount of rivers that I hadn't realised were so close.

From the replies I've had so far, a big THANK YOU!!

Best regards

Stuart
