Just unhooked a grayling today on the Wharfe and my top dropper wrapped round the rod. Put the rod under my arm and started to untangle. Just got it out when a grayling of about a pound slammed into my point fly that was trailing in the water, pulling the hook from my dropper right into my left index finger

This left me playing the fish at close range with the hook in my finger. Fortunately I was using barbless so I managed to get the hook out with my other hand and land the fish. It just shows how close grayling will feed to you, the fly must have practically been sat on my waders.
