The river Aire at Bingley does day tickets and is supposed to have good Grayling in.

Hello, you could always try the River Swale at Richmond. Excellent day ticket grayling fishing. Day tickets are six pound from the sports shop, not the gun shop.

I'll second that... The Swale through Richmond has some nice grayling along with nice chub and dace, all of which can be caught on the fly. I caught my largest (fly caught) chub 300m below the main bridge in the town (about 4lb), although that was about 15 years ago so I can't vouch for the river now. I would still invest my money on a day, on that water as I remember the water was beautiful and the fish free rising.

I would also love to fish the Wharf again which also has a good head of grayling. The last time I fished it was 15-20 years ago and I fished the river through Grassington and the Bolton Abbey water.

Hi Simon,
The Calder around Halifax is a good Grayling river and at £5.00 for a day ticket great value. If you want anymore info in terms of best locations / access please PM or email me.
Gary.

Yes its great value and good fishing, its only £20 for a season ticket. Just back from a club meeting and there's no plans to increase the fees.

I fished the River Swale three weeks ago on the Easby Abbey stretch catching numerous grayling ang trout, no real monsters but cracking sport. The river was running off, slightly coloured yet the grayling were still rising . I also had a couple on czech nymphs.

What a rip off - it's £3 for a day ticket on one of my local rivers! Time you London types moved into the real world
