Default pink spiders for grayling

Just tying up some pink bugs and some spiders for grayling in November.

Has anyone tied pink spiders? pink and partidge/starling/??

Any ideas welcome.

Mike Harding shows one on p145 of his book "North Country Flies". Pearson's Salmonberry thread, died pink hen hackle and fibres for the tail.

I haven't tried it myself so can't comment on its efficacy.

Just turned the page up pointed out by SharkeyP. It recommends the pattern for winter grayling. There is no reason why this Pink Spider shouldn't work.

Pink spider are well worth carrying. Try in very cold, clear condtions, but they are also useful when the water may be carrying a little more colour:

Thanks for all the tips....except for the stupid comments about ladies and pink. We all know that some certain men like pink also, don't we sweetie?

I'll tie up some pink and partidge and pink and whatever else I can find in the box. Will report back in efficacy in due course hopefully.

Oops Peter, I think you'll find that "Ladies" is a term often used for Grayling!

Grayling are known as the Lady Of The Stream. Perhaps you should learn more about them before posting sarcastic comments.
