Hi,

I am off to Scotland tomorrow evening to fish the River Deveron for a week. The fishing is primarily to catch salmon, but as a Trout & Grayling fisherman, hearing that they Wild Brown Trout fishing is amazing. I am now curious as to the truth in this and also was wondering if anyone has fished it for trout recently.

The brown trout fishing is superb, only problem is you can not buy trout permits except on some of the beats early season before the salmon runs start. Not 100% sure of the Deveron but if its the same as the don the trout season closed yesterday.

I will be up on Muiresk just upstream of Turrif as of late tommorow,and should I be in need of trout fishing will Potter over to Mike Barrios excellent fishery ,but would hopefully be putting in a full weeks salmon fishing if water levels allow !
