Default Clyde Fishing

I shall be up in Scotland this week and intend to get a day ticket for the Lamington waters.

Any advice gratefully received.

Is it predominately grayling at the moment?

Trout can still be tempted but mostly the smaller ones. I've came across big shoals of grayling feeding hard on a number of visits. Not been up for a week or so.

@Clunk: thanks for that. Will probably be fishing Wednesday and Thursday. I tied up some Sturdy's Fancy, my favourite grayling dry fly. I'll let you know how it goes.

Fished it on Saturday with IBM59. Water was a bit high so couldn't fish some of the good spots, wind was a nightmare as well. IBM59 caught a nice wee brownie and I managed to lose 2 or 3, missed a few as well.

Sent you a PM as well.

You were right about the wind today, it got gusty at points.
Second cast today got me a 7lb bar of silver which i returned and then nothing all day apart from a nice trout about 1 lb.
Great day!

Just got back from Scotland.

Fished Wednesday and Thursday. Warm and dry but with VERY HIGH winds.

Found a calm spot and connected with three trout on Wednesday afternoon. Landed two; one about 2.5lbs the other about 1.5lbs. Nothing for the rest of the day.

Thursday's weather was not quite as bad. Landed two trout, both about 1lbs, within ten minutes and then nothing.

Thoroughly enjoyed both days. Grateful for all the excellent advice I received from forum members.
