Default Gala Water Trout

Went down the Gala water for a walk with the rod today and found a nice looking pool, water was up a little and slightly coloured. Caught this on my first cast and lost another around the same size shortly after. Both took size 12 GRHE

Nice brownie .
I fished the Gala and Leeder waters 40 years ago with my father , we used to catch mainly salmon parr . Back then most people used to kill every takable fish so i dont think there were many fish in there , the same can be said of the Black and Whitadder streams .
What are they like these days ?

Hi there

I have fished the Gala, Leader and the Whiteadder loads over the last few years and have some really good trout and also hundreds of parr and very small trout.

There are some pools on the Gala that are excellent for bigger trout. Just need to be a bit sneakier when after them :-)

Still enjoy the Leader around Boon as well :-)

What club owns rights to Gala Waters and where can I get a permit? I might be heading out there soon and I was thinking about wetting some flies.
