Hi Noel,

I believe that Weardale Fly Fishers control the Wear between Stanhope and Eastgate which is just below Brotherlee.

Fishing - North Pennines

I'd be interested to know too who controlled the water upstream of Eastgate.

I've looked at the water myself a few times when going skiing and I am very tempted! I think April the 20th may see me somewhere nearby.

Found it!

River Wear - West Gate to Cowshill | UK Fisheries | Waterscape.com

I think these are the guys we are after!

Upper Weardale Angling Association!

Think I may be giving them a call come the trout season.

20 feet, not bad, probably a 3 weight from the static steps lol!

Sounds a perfect static!

Default I think its this club

Hi all - 1st post,

Noel, i think this is it,

W & D A C - Home

If i've posted the link right!

Willington and District Angling Club have a stretch from Page Bank to Willington and the stretch i think you mean from the Lafarge limits, upstream to about Westgate.

Map here, again if I've done it right:-

W & D A C - Eastgate Stretch

I'm in WFF too and cant wait to get back on the water.

Have you had your renewal letter yet?

Jamie

No still waiting had a look at the prices on W&D.A.C. £45 for a year for none Weardale residents where as ours is £25. £75 joins Waskerley no contest in my mind.Noel

I must admit I am tempted by Waskerley membership now that they dont do day tickets.

I had a few good days up there last year on the tickets and really like the setting.
