Default Shooting Head

Hi, I hve just bought some T14 from Sagefly. I need to make a shooting head.

I am thinking that I will need to have some form of running line between the T14 and the backing - but it will need to sink fast (we are fishing deep)

What would be the best stuff?

Cheers

Jon

Jon, if you use Mono as Shooting/Running line the T14 will take it down, if you dont fancy that idea then RIO also do a sinking Runningline.

I would go with BFF suggestion of mono, cheaper to replace.

I would avoid using braid chap. Get a runner on the end of your line and the fingers could become a little shorter.

We Aussies have tough hands but it is well worth remembering to keep your skin away from the braid.

The trick with mono is to replace it quite often, and if you are going to do that you might as well buy relatively cheap stuff.

A 50 metre spool of Shakespeare Aerial sea fishers' tournament shock leader in 40lb bs costs the princely sum of £2 from Mullarkeys and will make 2 lovely 25m shooting lines at a quid apiece, good for 5 or 6 trips.

Who needs more ? If you can not only regularly cast 37 yards plus in day to day fishing conditions, but can also land most of what you hook at that range, then fair play to you sir
